====== PHYS143 Diffraction Setup ====== For this lab there are two setups for each group of students. To date the lab sections for the PHYS140's have been capped at 15 students, meaning 5 stations are needed in total. ===== Optical Rail ===== The optical rail setup consists of the following for each station. * 1 - Optical rail. Found in the lab. * 3 - Post holders. Found in the bottom of the middle cabinet. * 2 - Screen holders. Usually found in the side cabinets in room 116. * 1 - Large Clamp to hold lasers. Found in the bottom of the middle cabinet. * 1 - Short piece of PVC tubing to hold a laser. Found in the 3rd cabinet from the door. * 3 - Inexpensive diffraction gratings, 1000 lines / mm. Found in 3rd cabinet. * 1 - Photocopy of a ruler taped to a piece of foam board. Found with PHSC supplies in 311. * 3 - Thorlabs 1 mW lasers, one blue, one green and one red.
